Hervé has extensive experience in business and project development in developing countries, particularly in Latin America and Africa. He was CEO of Elf Lubricants in Mexico, 1990 - 1997 and CEO of Elf Lubricant‘s international division, 1998 - 2002. In this role, he managed 13 subsidiaries in Latin America, Asia and Africa. He was President of IFIA (Interafrican Forest Industries Association) from 2005 - 2011. He played a key role in obtaining FSC certification of 5.3 million forest hectares. In addition, he was also instrumental in promoting tropical woods in international markets and championing high value processing of forest products in Africa. He has also served as a lecturer at HEC Paris on company management in emerging countries.
He has a Master’s degree in Philosophy, a degree in Law and graduated from EDHEC in business administration. In addition, he studied international marketing at INSEAD (1988). He speaks French, English Spanish and Portuguese fluently.
Clément has in-depth experience in forestry, agroforestry, project management & finance. He started his career in 2006 at the French Forestry Commission before joining the sustainable development team of Ernst & Young. At Ernst & Young, he initiated and successfully implemented the firm’s forest certification activity. Before joining the team, Clément was Head of Business Development at ONF International where he led the ONFI’s work on the development of the Moringa Fund.
Clément studied Biology at the Ecole Normale Supérieure. He has a Masters Degree in Ecology and Biology, an Executive Masters in Environmental Management (Mines & Agro ParisTech) and a private equity certificate from the Wharton School. He also serves as an associate professor at les Mines & Agro ParisTech. He speaks French, Englis, Spanish and Portuguese.
Guillaume has 10 years’ experience in finance (structuring private equity funds, deal origination, mergers and acquisition with Lazard and Natixis (2002-2003 and 2007-2008) and auditing with Ernst & Young (2003-2005)). Guillaume spent five years with La Compagnie Benjamin de Rothschild (CBR) before transitioning to Moringa in 2013. With CBR, he executed several fund raisings for European cleantech companies, before participating in the structuring of several private equity funds with strong environmental and social focuses. In particular, he participated in founding and creating BeCapital, a € 148 million European cleantech fund co-developed with Cobepa (Belgium), and structuring Moringa for CBR. He worked on defining strategies, recruiting investment teams, legal and tax structuring, and organising and structuring deals.
Adrien HENRY, 39, graduated in economics and management at HEC Paris and in economics of environment and natural resources at AgroParisTech. He first worked at Ernst&Young where he developed and audited triple bottom line performance reporting among other strategy jobs. He then worked for ten years with the Suez group with evolving responsibilities. First acting as senior market analyst on secondary raw materials world markets Adrien took a position as chief of staff at group’s board level. He then set up and managed Suez corporate venture team and investment fund for 4+ years and lately hold a field management position leading and transforming the group’s French organic recycling activities (350 people, 60 sites, 65mEUR under management).
